Comic Spam

We'll Be There
I had three spam comments in the last six days. The spammers are getting more complex. Mostly, this site gets half English comments that are clearly not on topic.

This is very nice post view to season purpose,I saw the first season – “Save the cheerleader, save the world.” But, I missed the entire second season. I plan on watching the 3rd season, but was hoping someone could give me a quick run-down of what happened during the 2nd season so I’ll know what’s going on. Thanks in advance. (Complete with link to a car logo plate service. I’m not sure what that has to do with Heroes but it lets me know ArtPatient is a site associates with superheroes and/or comics.)

I’m sure you all get a bit sick of being asked to look at people’s art… But, what do you think of my new webcomic? thanks a lot dear. (This had a link to a flooring site without any webcomic on it, sadly. If any kind of site needs something fun like a webcomic, it’s a flooring site.)

I have been out of the comic book world for 15 years and a friend recommended Josh Whedon’s Astonishing X-men vol 1 – 4. I loved it and looking for more comic books that are just a fun read with great art. What do you recommend? (This had a link to a stag party website.)

Anyone else seeing comic spam?

  1. No, but I’m also not seeing comments. I found out that the Captcha which was supposed to just be for joining the site ended up blocking people from posting. As for the e-mail address… I’m not sure how many requests for reviews actually are spam sites. I tend to view that account at work and not click links. ^^;;

    Weird that webcomics have become big enough that they get spam built around comments on them.

  2. I haven’t received any comics-specific spam yet that I’ve noticed, but I got this one on my shop listing for my zine Square Dance (which isn’t about dancing):

    Hi there,

    Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed this article. It’s obvious that you know dancing. Your site really is awesome.

    Thank you for your efforts!

    And the name linked to an online dance school. I found it pretty funny.

    I know I’ve had trouble sometimes (but not always) leaving comments on Tangents. I assumed it was my Mac/Browser combination.

    I guess the spam programs just catch a repeated keyword and spam away.
