Content Management Options

Some of you may be looking to something different than ComicPress to host your webcomic. For me, ComicPress was always buggy to implement – which is standard happenstace for me, don’t blame ComicPress. It seems to work fine for lots of people.

WordPress itself seems pretty resilient and easy to maintain. However, I hate being dependent on other people’s site structure ideas (and that annoying Hello Dolly self updating plugin that I always delete.) Anyway, WordPress is a decent middle ground but owing to its structure, it often has built in impediments and clutter that gets in the way of what I want to do.

So I keep my eyes open for other options. Specifically, I’m looking for a simple content management system that does not need a server database and can run from a folder on a hard drive or a usb stick. In any case, those 23 options might be enough to tide you over for now, if you’re in the market for something different.

You can do a lot with php, if you know what you’re doing. I am but a learner – if I ever get a spare minute, maybe I’ll get it figured out too. =)
